Jessica Chastain covers the December issue of Marie Claire. I’m a fan of hers, so I am happy to see her booking a major magazine cover but this image leaves me so underwhelmed. She looks super washed out and pale and I mostly hate what she’s wearing. Still holding out for when Harper’s Bazaar or Elle books her.
You can read the sort of odd cover story here and see the rest of her shoot (which is generally more inspired than her cover shot) here.
The inescapable Taylor Swift covers the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar. She’s promoting ‘Red’ and the cover story contains all the requisite talk of love, Kennedys, songwriting, relationships and breakups that you expect from a Taylor interview. Yawn.
Keira Knightley covers the December issue of Allure in a Chanel jacket and little else. Not sure why this is the image that a woman’s beauty magazine chose for their cover but I do like her makeup. The rest of the shoot is here.
Recently read Caitlin Moran’s How to Be a Woman. While it isn’t perfect, I really enjoyed it overall and was often that girl awkwardly laughing out loud on public transport while I read it. Here are a few good links about Caitlin:
Lauren Conrad booked her second Allure cover with the November issue. She’s promoting her new book Lauren Conrad Beauty, and the cover is a departure from Allure’s usual headshot covers. I love Lauren’s classic red lip and her striped Dior skirt but something about the pose makes this cover very awkward to me. Her spread inside the magazine is worth a look though.
